Make sure you leave a long thread for sewing!
Now that you have made the head you can now stuff the head, here is a tip for
you whilst you are stuffing the head, stuff around pushing stuffing out to the
sides, once you are done doing that you will notice an unfilled centre, you will
fill the centre part with stuffing.
We will now be focusing on making Pickles facial features, so continue:-
Eyes
Using the templates on the back page, cut them out , glue onto a piece of card
and then you hold each piece onto the coloured felt and cut around, Using
Fabric Glue, glue the Black piece to the blue piece and then glue to the White
piece.
You will now need to glue the eyes to the head, You will see quite an obvious line
around the head where the increases were, Place the eyes with the bottom of
the eyes sitting on the line, you want 3 sts showing between both eyes.
Once you have done this you will need to sculpt under the eyes, so continue:-
Sculpting the eyes
Once you have stuffed the head and glued the eyes into place with a strand of
Flesh DK and a large sculpting needle, take the needle up through the neck and
out onto the bottom left corner of the eye you will then take the needle into the bottom right corner of the eye and back
down and out through the neck, pull tight and tie a knot, you will need to repeat
this for the other eye.
Now that we have made the eyes, we will now make the eyelids, so continue:-
Eyelids x 2
Using Flesh DK Yarn and a 2.00mm hook:-
1)6sc into a MR, Ch1 and turn (6)
2)(1sc, inc) x 3, Ch1 and turn (9)
3)(2sc, inc) x 3, Ch1 and turn (12)
4)(3sc, inc) x 3, and Ch1 (15)
5)Sc along the straight edge and F.O leaving a long thread for sewing!
Once you have made the other eyelids, you will then pin the eyelids at a slant on
each eye and sew them into place.
Now that we have made the eyelids, we will now make the nose, so continue:-
Nose
Using Flesh DK Yarn and a 2.00mm hook:-
1)6sc into a MR(6)
2)(inc) x 6 (12)
3)Sc around, Sl St and F.O (12)
Slightly stuff the nose and pin into place
Using the left over thread sew the nose into place so that it sits just below the
eyes.
Once you have done this, we will move onto sculpting the mouth, so continue:-
Sculpting the mouth
You will need a strand of Flesh DK and a large sculpting needle:-
Take the needle down through the top of the head and bring it out 7 rows down
from the bottom of the nose, count 6sts to the left and insert the needle
You will then bring the needle out at the top of the head, pull tight tie a knot and
weave in ends.
If you want the cheeks to be more chubby you can now push some more
stuffing up into each cheek.
This is how the head and facial features should look:-
Now we will make the ears, so continue:-
Ears
Using Flesh DK Yarn and a 2.00mm hook:-
Right Ear
1)6sc into a MR, Ch1 and turn (6)

Sl St, F.O, Leaving a long thread for sewing!
Repeat this for the other arm.
Now that we have completed making the hands and arms, we can now move on
to sculpting pickle together, so continue:-
Sculpting Pickle
For the first part you will need to sew the head to the body, whilst sewing the
head to the body make sure to put tiny amounts of stuffing inside of the neck to
give the head stability, once you have done this we will move on to sculpting the
hands and legs to the body:-
When sculpting the legs to the body, you need to make sure that the left leg
goes on the left side and the right leg goes on the right side the best way of
knowing is to make sure that the big toes are on the inside of each leg, once you
are happy take the thread from one of the legs and take it through to the other
side of the body, then back through again I do this a couple of times to make
sure that the leg is secure, Repeat this for the other leg.
With the hands and arms take the thread from one of the arms and take it
through to the other side of the body and back through again, do this a couple
more times to secure, once you are happy repeat this for the other arm
Now that you have sculpted the body together we can now move on to making
the clothes, so continue:-
