FLOWER (in blue yarn)

Ch 11. Crochet in rows.
Row 1: start in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in
next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next 3 ch, dc in next 2 ch, hdc
in next ch, sc in next ch, ch 1, turn [10]
Work Row 2-19 in BLO (except for the stitches in the
standing loop)
Row 2: slst in next 10 st, slst in next standing loop (marked
in picture 1), ch 1, turn [11]

Row 3: slst in next st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next
3 st, hdc in next 3 st, sc in next 2 st (picture 2), ch 1, turn [11]
Row 4: slst in next 8 st, ch 3, turn [8] (picture 3)
Row 5: sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next st, tr in next
3 st, dc in next 2 st, hdc in next st, sc in next st, ch 1, turn [10]
Row 6: slst in next 10 st, slst in next standing loop, ch 1,

Row 8 – 19: repeat rows 4-7 three more times (19 rows in

Fold the flower with the edges against each other, forming
a bell. Join the edges with 8 slst (inserting your hook in the
starting chain and the back loops of the last row (picture 5)).
Fasten off and weave in the yarn end. Hold the flower with the
bell facing downwards and pull up a loop of blue yarn in one
of the loops at the end of the ribs (marked with purple yarn in
picture 6). Sc in each of the marked loops (pictures 7-8).
Fasten off, leaving a yarn tail. Using a yarn needle, weave the
yarn tail through the front loop of each remaining stitch and
pull it tight to close. Weave in the yarn end.

LEAF (in green yarn)

Ch 14. Crochet in rows.
Row 1: start in second ch from hook, slst in next 13 ch, ch 1,
turn [13]
Continue working around both sides of the leaf.
Row 2: FLO sc in next st, FLO hdc in next 10 st, FLO sc in next
2 st, 2 sc + ch 2 + 2 sc in next standing loop (last ch of the
starting chain). Continue in the starting chain: sc in next 2 st,
hdc in next 10 st, sc in next st, ch 1, turn [30 + 2 ch]
Row 3: slst in next 15 st, slst in next ch, ch 2, slst in next ch,
slst in next 15 st [32 + 2 ch]
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

STAMEN (in milky white yarn)

Row 1: (ch 10, start in second ch from hook, sc in next ch,
slst in next 8 ch) repeat 3 times, slst in first ch of the starting
chain.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

FLOWERPOT (start in nut brown yarn)

Repeat Rnd 1-20 of the Narcissus flowerpot pattern. Continue
in light green yarn.
Rnd 21 – 34: sc in all 5 st [5]
Rnd 35: FLO inc in all 5 st [10]
Rnd 36: (sc in next st, ch 3, start in second ch from hook, sc in
next ch, dc in next ch, sc in next st) repeat 5 times.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Hold the flowerpot
upside down and pull up a loop of nut brown yarn in the last
remaining front loop of Rnd 5. Work the first stitch of the next
round in this stitch.

Rnd 37: FLO sc in all 33 st [33]
Fasten off in the invisible way. Hold the flowerpot upside down.
Pull up a loop of nut brown yarn in the last front loop of Rnd 15.
Ch 2 and work the first stitch of the next round in this stitch.
Rnd 38: FLO dc in next 39 st [39]
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the back loops
of Rnd 38 to the remaining front loops of Rnd 12.

ASSEMBLY

  • Place and sew the stamen inside the bell.
  • Place and sew the stalk to the center bottom of the flower,
    making a seam around it as you go.
  • Place and sew the leaf around the stalk.
  • Embroider the mouth on the same round as the eyes with
    black sewing thread. Embroider cheek blushes under the
    eyes with light red yarn.
