Arms*2:

Round 1: 5 sc in magic ring =5

Tug the tail to tighten the ring. Mark the last stitch and move the

Round 7: [3 sc, dec ]*2 = 8

Round 8: [3 sc, inc ]*2 =10

Rounds 9-23: 10 sc ( 15 rounds)

Pull out the yarn and cut it ( leave a long tail in case some sewing should be needed).

You have finished one of the arms, now crochet one more because we need 2 arms. DO NOT stuff the arms!

*Cut two pieces of wire about 27 cm (11 inch) and fold the ends. We are going to use them as skeletons of legs, body and head.

Right Leg:

Round 1: ch 6, turn back ; inc, 3 sc , 4 sc in the same st, (from the other side of the main chain) 3 sc, inc = 14

Round 6: 3 sc, 4 dec, 3 sc =10

Round 36: 12 sc, stop here, do not go on = 12
Sl st 1, pull out the yarn and cut it (leave a long tail in case some sewing should be needed).

Left leg:
Crochet the first 35 rounds as we did on the right leg
Round 36: 18 sc =18
Round 37: 3 sc , stop here, DO NOT cut the yarn ; now keep on working from here to join the legs.

*For the positioning of the leg, you may need to do extra stitches so that the legs are properly aligned if you use the V sc and not the X one. I use X sc and extra stitches might be needed if the V type is used.

Body:

Round 1: ch 2, work 1 sc into sl st of right leg. 17 sc in right leg, 2 sc in back side of the chain, 18 sc in left leg, 2 sc in other side of the chain =40
Round 2: work 18 sc and put your stitch marker here. This is the new starting point of the round.
Rounds 3-8: 40 sc = 40 (6 rounds)
Round 9: [8 sc, dec]4 =36 Round 10: 36 sc =36 Round 11: [dec, 7 sc]4 =32
Rounds 12-17: 32 sc =32 (6 rounds)
Round 18: [7 sc, inc]*4 =36
Round 19-21: 36 sc =36 (3 rounds)

Now, we are going to join the arms at this round. (You need to insert your hook into a st of the arm and a st of the body at the same time, then pull through these 2 sts.)

Round 22: 10 sc, 4 sc ( taking one from the arm and one from the body), 14 sc, 4 sc (taking one from the arm and one from the body), 4 sc =36

Round 23: 10 sc, working in the shoulder [1 sc, inc]3 , 14 sc, working in the shoulder [1 sc, inc]3 , 4 sc =46

Round 24: 10 sc, 3 sc3tog, 14 sc, 3 sc3tog, 4sc =34

3 sc =24
Round 26: [2 sc, dec]6 = 18 Round 27: [1 sc, dec]6 =12

Now 3 rounds for the neck

Head:
Round 1: 12 inc =24

Rounds 14-23: 54 sc (10 rounds)

Stop and place the safety eyes (10mm) between rounds 13 and 14, 8 sts apart. If you mark the position of the eyes with pins beforehand, it will be more assured.

Round 24: [7 sc, dec]6 =48 Round 25: [6 sc, dec]6 = 42
Round 26: [5 sc, dec]6 = 36

At this point, stuff the neck and head tightly.

Round 27: 18 dec = 18

Round 28: [1 sc, dec]6 =12

Round 29: 6 dec =6

Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing. Using a tapestry needle, pass the tail through all the loops of the last round and pull. Make a knot and hide the yarn inside.

Embroider the eyelashes, eyebrows (3 stitches wide and end one row down from the starting row) and the mouth (2 stitches wide, ending one row higher than the start) using thin black yarn. Shape the nose between the eyes (3 stitches wide).

You can apply a bit of blush on cheeks

Ears*2:
➢ work 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc in magic ring . Sew the ears 7 sc apart from the eyes.

Hair :
Work with brown yarn.

Round 3: [1 sc, inc]8 =24

Round 4: [2 sc, inc ]8 =32

*Work Ch 30 , turn back, ‘skip 2 and, starting from the 3rd loop,’ work 1 dc in the next 28 loops of the chain. Skip 1 st from the circle piece and work sl st into the next st. Keep working in series until you have 20 strands of hair.

Sewing the hair on the head

  1. Place the piece inside out on the top of the head . Leave 7 hairs on the front, pin the rest of hair strands behind the ears.
  1. First, sew the circle piece on the top of the head, do not pull tight otherwise it will look bad.
  1. Take the needle out of the place where you pinned the hair. Just sew the hairs on the head where you pinned. Do Not pull tight otherwise it will look ugly.
  1. Take 3 hair strands (from 7 hair strands you left before) on the right front of the head. Bend the 3 hair strands, create a bang and sew these three hairs together behind the ear.
  1. Take 3 more hair strands, bend them and sew on the right side of the head again.

6.Bend the last hair strand too and sew it on the left of the head, behind the left ear.
