Hair:
● Some fun chunky yarn.
For this doll I’ve used Lion Brand Homespun…it’s a little fluffy but I think it looks good. You can use
any yarn of your choosing but I find chunky works best. Or you can use my doll locs which are
available on my website occasionally.

  1. Cut your yarn into lengths…bear in mind when you attach the yarn length will be folded in half so
    don’t cut them too short.

Inset hook into one of the stitches on the scalp.

Fold a strand of yarn in half and pull the center point through the scalp.

Take the loose ends of the strand and thread them through the loop.

Tug the ends to pull tight. Repeat across the scalp until your doll has a full head of hair.
*You don’t have to add a strand to every stitch or you may find the hair is too thick, every other
seems to be sufficient.

Make 2.
SANDAL SOLE
(Using colour for the sole of the sandal.)

  1. CH5, in the back bump of the second chain INC, SC2, INC. (6)

  5. For sole: FO with Sl St into the next stitch and set aside.
    SANDAL TOP
  6. Follow instructions for 1-4 for the Sole DO NOT FINISH OFF
  7. Placing the wrong sides of the work together, Sl St the two pieces together all the way around.

After the last Sl St, Ch2, skip 2 spaces and place a Sl St to secure. Ch 1, Turn.

Using the small loop at the back of the sandal from starting the Sl St: DC3, Ch4, Sl St into the top of
the last DC made (this creates a loop), DC3, skip 2 stitches and Sl St. FO (this creates the heel
backing)

Using top color create Toe Piece: attach Yarn at the side just before the Inc stitches and around the
Sl St you used to secure the soles together. SC3, Ch 1, Turn.

(SC3, Ch1, Turn) x7 (3)

SC3, FO leaving tail to stitch in place. (3)

Note: If the toe piece does not fit over your doll’s foot securely, make another row or two (or less if
too loose) before stitching in place.
For sandal tie: Ch 42 FO. String through the loop at the heel and tie around her ankle.
Alternatively, you can use thin ribbon OR make a longer chain and wrap around the ankle and shin to
make more gladiator style sandals for your faun. Add a flower or bow to the toe piece – whatever you
want to dress up your doll!

Have fun with it!
