4. Crochet *2 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (24)
5. Crochet *3 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (30)
6. Crochet *4 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (36)
7. Crochet *5 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (42)
8. Crochet *13 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (45)
9. to 18. Crochet 45 sc
19. Change to dark brown and crochet 1 slst in the next back loop. We are going to start crocheting the hair curls now. So, chain 11 ch stitches. Insert hook in the second ch from hook and crochet 1 sc. Then crochet 1 sc in each stitch along the chain, until you reach the border of the hood (you’ll end up with 10 sc). The locks will curl naturally as you go. Now * crochet 1 slst in the next 2 back loops on the edge of the hood and once again chain 11 ch stitches. Insert hook in the second ch from hook and crochet 1 sc. Then crochet 1 sc in each stitch along the chain, until you reach the border of the hood again (10 sc)*. Repeat * till you’ve done 10 hair curls. Crochet one last stst to finish.
Close and break the yarn.
Skirt
{NOTE: Turn your doll head down and insert the yellow yarn in one of the remaining front loops of round 15 of the body, right on the back of your doll…}
1. Crochet 1 sc in each front loop of round 15 of the body (30)
2. Crochet *2 sc in each st*, repeat * (60)
3. Crochet *2 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (80)
4. and 5. Crochet 80 sc
Close, break the yarn and weave in ends.
Arms
{Make two, start with the color of her skin…}
1. Make 2 chain stitches. Crochet 4 sc in the second chain from hook.
2. Crochet *2 sc in each stitch*, repeat * (8)
3. to 10. Crochet 8 sc
{No need to stuff the arms…}
11. Change to light brown and, only through back loops, crochet 8 sc
12. and 13. Crochet 8 sc
14. Press the opening with your fingers and single crochet together both opposing sides.
Close. Break the yarn and leave a long tail to sew arms to body.
Antennae
{Make 2, using dark brown…}
1. Chain 7. tarting from the second chain from hook, crochet 1 sls in each chain stitch (6).
Close and break the yarn, leaving a long tail to sew to the hood.
Wings
{Make 2, using white…}
1. Chain 8 ch stitches. Starting from the second chain from hook, crochet 1 sc each of the first 6 stitches, 4 sc in the last st of the chain (= 2 increases together). This will allow you to turn and work on the other side of the chain. Crochet 1 sc in each of the remaining 6 stitches (16). Chain 1 and turn.
2. Crochet 1 sc in each of the first 6 stitches, then crochet 1 increase in each of the next 4 stitches and finally crochet 1 sc in each of the following 6 stitches (20).
Close and break the yarn, leaving a long tail to sew to the back of your doll.
Assembly
– Embroider some hairlocks to the forehead of your bee, using your tapestry needle and dark brown yarn.
– Sew the hood to the head and then sew the antennae to the hood.
– Sew the arms to the sides of the body.
– Sew the wings to her back.
– Weave in all ends inside your doll.
